Community is something we often talk about, and yet it is not easily defined.  Our practices include not just us and our business, but the ecosystems of commerce, profession, and location.

Now is an exciting time to be a part of this field and there are many opportunities to have an influence.

Listen into this discussion around what it means to have a successful, resonant and enjoyable professional life.

In This Conversation We Discuss:

  • Considering practice from the perspective of ethics
  • Pausing to consider the question of “what is this profession?”
  • So many ways we can practice compared to 15 years ago
  • Cultivating diverse perspectives
  • What does community mean in the age of digital communication?
  • The place for social media

Don't spend money on SEO services, or pay money to anyone promising to get you into particular keyword rankings on Google. The vast majority of these are scam-adjacent or simply unnecessary. Instead, if you want to improve your SEO, one simple method is to write one blog article per week on your website on a basic Chinese medicine topic. Over time, this will do more for your search engine rankings for much less money.

I am a Chinese herbalist, writer and teacher who lives and practices on the Oregon Coast. I run a busy, successful clinic with my wife who is a massage therapist. I graduated from NUNM in 2009, where I then taught herbs, business, practice management, ethics and clinical reasoning.

Since leaving NUNM, I have chiefly written and taught online through my website, Deepest Health, which has been in operation since 2007 and explores many topics in East Asian Medicine. Outside of East Asian medicine, I have strong interests in the wise use of technology, Philosophy and History of science and like to spend most of my time in the forest and by the ocean.
