“Jump Start: Saam Acupuncture” with Andreas Brüch
Is a passionate teacher and practitioner who brings over twenty years of experience in East Asian medicine to his students. With a Ph.D. in psychology from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and dual diplomas in acupuncture and herbal medicine from the European Institute of Oriental Medicine, he offers a unique blend of rigorous scholarship and hands-on clinical wisdom.
Since 1996, Dr. Brüch has journeyed regularly to South Korea to study martial arts, Qigong, and Korean Medicine. His path has included advanced training in Korean Hand Acupuncture at the Koryo Sujichim Institute in Seoul and further studies at renowned institutions such as Kyung Hee University and Busan National University. Along the way, he has learned directly from Saam lineage holders, esteemed Korean doctors, and leading scholars who bridge traditional practice with modern innovation. He is also an honorary member of the Society of Saam Acupuncture in Seoul, South Korea.
Currently Dr. Brüch continues his deep study under Dr. Yoo-Ong Jung, a direct student of the late contemporary Saam innovator Kim Hong-Gyeong. Since 2015, Andreas has been sharing his knowledge of Saam acupuncture with students throughout Europe and in the USA. He also released a German-language Saam textbook in 2017 which has become a trusted guide for practitioners.
In his teaching, Dr. Brüch is known for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. He draws from his broad experience to make complex concepts clear, practical, and directly applicable, inspiring students to not only develop their skills but also to deepen their confidence and connection with the art of acupuncture
Andreas has written an excellent article on Four needles, Five Elements, and Six Qi: Treatment using Korean Saam Acupuncture. It was published in the European Journal of Oriental Medicine (EJOM) Volume 9, No 5, 20-29.
Regardless of whether you’re new to Saam or been at it for while, you’ll find this to be a thoughtful look at the five phases and six qi.
This online seminar is designed for TCM practitioners interested in Saam acupuncture. In two sessions we will give you a systematic introduction of this method and how to integrate it with your existing skills in TCM (or other styles of Asian medicine).
